WORKSHOP: Planning for Change: Managing Career and Life Transitions
In today's dynamic workplace, continuous change has become the norm. Around the time we think we have a situation under control, when chaos has temporarily ceased and we're enjoying a period of relative stability . . . things change again. We take a deep breath and deal with it, because we know if we don't there could be unpleasant consequences. Women in leadership positions must learn to adapt and accept rapid change if they are to succeed, move up within an organization, and advance their careers. Knowing this is one thing; doing it on a day-to-day basis is another.
Why do some women manage gracefully during times of change, while others struggle? What if you could move beyond simply accepting change? How would your career (and your life) be different if you were able to anticipate change and embrace it? Is it possible to effectively lead a team when change is so prevalent and when everyone feels on edge because of unpredictability in the workplace?
Based on the Cycle of Renewal model developed at The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, Planning for Change is a half-day, interactive workshop that teaches women in leadership positions to embrace change as a path to innovation, creativity, and personal and professional growth.
Are you or the women in your organization:
- Experiencing personal or professional transition?
- Feeling weighed down with multiple responsibilities and information overload?
- Supervising team members who resist or struggle with change?
- Interested in making better decisions and achieving big goals?
- Being forced to accomplish more in less time and with fewer resources than ever before?
- Struggling to integrate career with family and other outside commitments?
If any of the above apply, you'll want to schedule a Planning for Change workshop today. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will:
- Understand the Cycle of Renewal model for change.
- Determine their position within this cycle and how to effectively move through each of the four phases in the model.
- Learn specific skills to apply within each of the four phases.
- Begin to experience change as predictable and recurring.
- Understand how embracing change leads to innovation and creativity.
- Develop deeper connections with their fellow workshop participants.
- Have access to a practical model and tool that they can use immediately.
- Apply the model both personally and professionally by creating a 12-month action plan.
Planning for Change may be delivered on-site at your company or off-site in a retreat setting. This four-hour workshop requires a minimum of 10 participants (30 maximum). Those in attendance may be from one department or team within a company, or from throughout the organization. Request More Information

"Thank you for a wonderful evening! I appreciate your driving so far and giving so generously of your time and expertise to teach my women's group to think about their lives and ways to rekindle their enthusiasm and passion. It is obvious that you have come by your knowledge personally, and I appreciate how you shared your own path of growth and change, making us realize this is available to us, too. You offer practical and concrete ways for us to identify our own passions and ways to accomplish them in our own lives. Your presentation was organized in a way that we could easily identify with the challenges this path presents and the ways to achieve our goals, one step at a time.
